Event Description

Rarely – if ever – have the challenges been this intense for Wisconsin manufacturers.

This year's May 19 Manufacturing Matters! Conference in Milwaukee is designed to meet the needs of state manufacturers as they grapple with an unprecedented global recession and competitive challenges. More than 30 presenters – including 10 panelists from Wisconsin manufacturing firms -- will share their expertise and perspectives on a wide range of pressing issues and topics. New this year is a workshop track highlighting best practices on sustainability in products and processes.

We have two excellent keynotes whose presentations will be fresh, informative and timely. Keynotes are: Tim Sanders, former Chief Solutions Officer at Yahoo! and author of Saving The World At Work: What Companies and Individuals Can Do to Go Beyond Making a Profit to Making a Difference; and Steven S. Little, business growth expert and author of The Milkshake Moment and his new book Duck and (re)Cover: The Embattled Business Owner’s Guide to Survival and Growth.

All of the educational content and best practices – from keynotes to workshops to panel discussions – are built around the six success attributes of Next Generation Manufacturing identified in last fall's survey of 500+ state firms.
