MANUFACTURING THE FUTURE

A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT MANUFACTURING AND ITS FUTURE.

I'd like to welcome everyone to the forum. My students will be posting their work, projects and questions in the upcoming weeks. The student design teams will be using not only our website, but this forum to post weekly updates on their projects. The students currently have four prototype race vehicles under design, development and manufacture. I also have six teams coming up with a solution to a local manufacturer's problem. The students and staff are also busy in remodeling our main manufacturing lab. Due to a local donation, we are currently in the process of setting up a vertical machining center. We are also setting up two CNC lathes, two CNC Bridgeport vertical mills, two small CNC mills, two manual vertical mills and eight brand new manual lathes.

The students will also be working on a team learning experiment. We're going to be combining an advanced CAD class with a Machine Tool course. A CAD student will be paired up with a Machine Tool student. Our guest instructors are coming from a local company. The instructors are going to take the students through a project from CAD idea to final product from the CNC vertical machining center.

We're busy!!! Any manufacturer, engineer, college or technical instructor that would like to present to the students, our door is open.
