Edward E. Gordon, Ph.D. talks about misperceptions about manufacturing.

Edward E. Gordon is an internationally recognized writer, speaker, historian, and educator. His latest works include Literacy in America: Historic Journey and Contemporary Solutions (Praeger, 2003), Tutor Quest: Finding Effective Education for Children and Adults (Phi Delta Kappa Educational Foundation, 2002), Skill Wars, Winning the Battle for Productivity and Profit (Butterworth/Heinemann, 2000), FutureWork, the Revolution Reshaping American Business (Praeger, 1994), Closing the Literacy Gap in American Business (Quorum, 1991), and Centuries of Tutoring: A History of Alternative Education in Western Europe and America (University Press of America, 1990). He is the author of over 200 articles on many aspects of literacy, training, and tutoring for children and adults. Ed's articles have appeared in the Phi Delta Kappan, Adult Learning, Principal Leadership, the NASSP Bulletin, and many business and training periodicals.

Ed Gordon is President of Imperial Consulting Corporation. Over the course of 30 years through two of its divisions, Imperial Tutoring and Educational Services (a North Central Association accredited tutoring school), and Imperial Corporate Training and Development, he directed the development of tutoring and training programs for thousands of children and adults. For 20 years Gordon also taught at three Chicago universities: DePaul, Loyola, and Northwestern. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Literacy Resource Development Center, the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois, and the National Council for Business-Education Cooperation; is on the Advisory Board of the Tutor/Mentor Cabrini Connection; and is a member the Education Quality Workforce Committee of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.
